Wright Passes Kranepool

Mets third baseman David Wright set the record for most hits in franchise history with a single in the 3rd inning of a 6-0 win against the Pirates on Wednesday. Wright’s 1,419th career hit surpassed Ed Kranepool, who played for the Mets from 1962-1979. Wright finished the game 2-4 with one run scored. He now has 1,420 career hits.
He leads the Mets in hits, doubles, extra-base hits, walks, RBIs and runs scored, ranks second in batting average, third in on-base percentage and fourth in slugging percentage.
