In the late 1600s, townspeople would gather in Salem to watch the beheading of an accused mythical witch. Today, a crowd of fans gathers outside the Jackie Robinson Rotunda to watch the de-staching of mythical facial hair. Keith Hernandez will shave off his number one mustache in sports for charity today prior to the Mets home finale.

After the shaving, Keith said his upper lip felt “cold.” He also said he will keep it shaved the rest of the season then decide in the off-season whether or not to grow it back. But he did say it will one day return.
