Path To Payroll Flexibility
We all know what the plan with the Mets was once Sandy Alderson was hired as general manager/put in place by Bud Selig. The first step in that plan has been completed by seeing the Mets through any Bernie Madoff litigation. With that now in the rearview mirror, it is on to dealing with the on-field issue. Most people know about the handcuff contracts (Jason Bay, Johan Santana) and the prospects coming up but Matthew Cerrone over at MetsBlog laid it out in a way I haven’t seen before.
