Game One of the World Series wasn’t too exciting last night with the Giants getting out to an early lead and never looking back. The lone suspenseful moment was Pablo Sandoval (still should have been a backup to Wright in the All-Star Game) trying to hit his fourth home run of the night, a feat never accomplished in a World Series game. But the special moment of the game for the Mets family was a feature where fans, players, coaches, cameramen, and broadcasters (virtually everyone in the building) held up cards with the names of loved ones affected by cancer as a part of the “Stand Up 2 Cancer” campaign. Tim McCarver, who did color commentary for the Mets from 1983 to 1998, held up a card as a tribute to Mets PR staffer Shannon Forde.
